My name is John Salisbury but the kids call me coach John. I am a national expert in chess and professional chess coach. My family and I recently moved to Tupelo, Mississippi. Mississippi struggles financially and because of this, education and resources for children are not abundant. I alone can not solve these problems statewide but maybe I can make a difference in my community. To sum up, there is not one USCF rated scholastic player in the area. I hope to change that. A chess set cost about $10. For every 10 sets donated, I will teach a public school gifted class in the area the basic rules and strategies. By giving the children sets and teaching the basics.
